Dawn landed first in 6 of 6 races.
The same $1 trade was sent through Dawn and Cove at the exact same moment, three buys and three sells. Here is which one the blockchain confirmed first.
Each tile is one Solana block, about 0.22 seconds, shown at real speed. Both orders were sent at the same moment; a coloured tile is the block where that trade was confirmed.

Rounds 1 and 2, recorded live. Dawn is on the left, Cove on the right, with a reference clock across the top.
Every trade, side by side.
Each card is one pair of orders sent together. The tiles show the blocks between Dawn’s confirmation and Cove’s.
How big is the difference?
Each light turns on the moment that app’s trade was confirmed.

How it works
Blocks are the clock
Solana records trades in blocks, one after another, about every 0.22 seconds. Think of each block as one tick of a very fast clock.
Lower number came first
Every block has a number that only goes up. If Bot 1’s trade is in block …268 and Bot 2’s trade is in block …272, Bot 1’s trade was confirmed four ticks earlier.
Same moment, same trade
Each pair was the same $1 order on the same token, sent through both bots at once. Whichever lands in the earlier block reached the chain faster.
